Advent Calendar Guide 2022

Just when you thought a Chanel Advent calendar was as wild as it could get, along comes 2022 with an even bigger selection to choose from. With big brands and small businesses alike jumping on the bandwagon there’s never been a better time to get into the spirit of Christmas and get one for yourself or those closest to you. With just a few days to go until December 1st, here’s some of my favourites this year.

Tea Heritage is a Lyon-based boutique company producing delicious and unusual organic teas, who have launched a very special Christmas tea selection this year. The collection features a 25 door advent calendar featuring beautiful organic tea bags, chocolates and a selection of hand-stitched, organic loose leaf tea bags, which are the perfect gift for tea lovers this Christmas. What I liked best about this is that the tea bags are shaped like the chocolates in traditional calendars such as snowmen, candy canes, reindeer etc. The teas themselves are absolutely delicious and the flavours are so different and interesting that each day is a real treat.

Not partial to tea? How about a good strong coffee? Better than that, how about a different blend everyday for the 12 days of Christmas? If you’re anything like me then the day doesn’t really start until you’ve had a good cup of coffee and I was blown away by the selection from Chimney Fire Coffee and their 12 Days of Discovery 2022 Christmas Coffee Gift Box. This is the first package I have received in the post where I could smell it before I even opened the box, and if you like coffee it smells divine! The box contains 12 different blends of coffee carefully selected by Chimney Fire’s roastery team to satisfy different tastes, and introduce a new and interesting coffee from around the world. I love the Papua New Guinea blend with Blackcurrant Squash, Brown Sugar and Mellow flavours and one from Zambia with Sweet, Orange, Marmalade flavours. The brand is also incredibly sustainable and £1 from each and every sale goes to charity.

If you want a calendar that’s made for sharing then you’ll both get great pleasure from this years offering from Lovehoney and their 7 Nights of Temptation Lingerie Advent Calendar. Send your lover into orbit with seven of their sexiest lingerie pieces and accessories. Hidden behind each door is another element to add to your erotic ensemble, this gorgeous collection of gift-wrapped treats includes everything you need for an evening of passion, from a stockings and knickers to a matching eye mask and scented candle. Designed to set the mood over the course of the week opening one door at a time or, reveal all at once for an irresistible, instant ‘get-me-to-the-bedroom’ look. You could be pulling more than a cracker this year with this one!

If you’re a fan of underwear but don’t want to be as risque then why not settle for socks? And not just any socks, Sock Shop offers some of the best quality and beautifully designed pieces to really brighten up your drawers. Their 25 Pair Christmas Advent Calendar made my list this year because it enabled me to fill my whole drawer with brand new socks and even have some to give to family and friends. 25 different pairs of quality bamboo socks are hidden inside the double-door gift package, and as each is in their own individual festive gift box, they’re great for if you do want to gift them to someone else. The mix of socks is great too, you get the novelty of fun festive socks and everyday plain and ribbed socks too – no two pairs are the same. All the socks are quality made to be smooth, soft and gentle next to the skin, woven in a bamboo rich blend, so you know they’ll feel great, and keep your feet fresh, because bamboo is skin-friendly, moisture-absorbing and breathable. There’s a choice of a men’s set or ladies’ set of these Christmas socks and this is this year’s absolute favourite of mine.

Smith & Sinclair have created edible cocktail sweets, which come in an impressive smart gift box and are deliciously tasty too. Great for those who love a cocktail or two at Christmas (or any night of the week!) or those with a sweet tooth looking for a sweet treat in the run up to Christmas. Their Advent offering is a great bit of fun, the Naughty or Nice Countdown Calendar contains 24 alcoholic gummy cocktails with everything from Whiskey Sours, Tequila Slammer and a classic Gin and Tonic. Believe me when I say they are a taste sensation and are really just something different from the usual kind of sweets or chocolate we all like to indulge in at this time of year.

Now I will never mention anything in my articles that I haven’t tried myself but I did receive one that I knew would be wasted on me but loved by someone close to me. Lakrids by Bulow are the very experts increating liquorice, a Scandinavian favourite as well as being loved around the world. Fellow writer Lis-Marie toured their factory this year and was raving about their sustainability, humble beginnings and passion for what they produce. Their Christmas Calendar contains 24 of their favourite unique taste experiences centred around liquorice mixed with the finest chocolate. Whilst that sounds like my nightmare, I knew my mum and dad would absolutely love to enjoy this over the period of Advent so posted it first class the the Lake District in time for December 1st. I shall wait for updates as to who gets up first and opens the doors each day!

Last but by no means least is a calendar that is a treat to your mind, body and soul each of the 12 days of Christmas from Neal’s Yard Remedies. Their 12 Days of Beauty and Wellbeing Advent Calendar is absolutely beautiful to open. Each drawer containing an individually wrapped vegan friendly, cruelty free product to pamper yourself with in the run up to Christmas and enjoy throughout the year. Take a moment each day to wrap yourself in their finest natural beauty and wellbeing products, crafted with ethically and sustainably sourced botanicals and essential oils. With 6 full sized products and 6 miniatures it’s fantastic value for money and one of the most luxurious of this selection. I couldn’t help but open it all at once and use all the lovely things inside, certainly a real treat for yourself or a loved one this Christmas.

Whether you can’t wait for Christmas and love to count down the days or just fancy the idea of a different kind of brew each day, hopefully there’s an advent calendar here to suit you or someone close to you.
