Copper & Blossom Manchester

The lounge in the Copper and Blossom Suite

Manchester is one of those places that’s absolutely buzzing at Christmas. The Christmas Markets have been voted some of the best in all of Europe year after year and the iconic Trafford Centre is transformed into a festive paradise for the holiday season. It’s no wonder the city is host to thousands of visitors this time of year and now there is a venue that can host you and all your friends for a cosy night in or prepare you for a night out you’ll never forget. Copper & Blossom opened at the beginning of 2020 but has already established itself as some of the most beautiful and instagrammable accommodation in the city. In fact it was on Instagram that I first came across the suites and decided I simply had to take my sister for a sleepover. Located in the heart of Ancoats (THE place to go in Manchester apparently) this is not your average hotel. You wouldn’t spot it from the outside which only adds to the exclusivity of the experience.

With special instructions from our host we were guided to the building that appears normal from the outside then takes you into an ordinary looking corridor. The exterior and interior doors are all secured with a touchpad and keycode in order to enter which is changed with each guest making it very safe and sound. Upon opening the door to our Orchid suite we were immediately greeted by neon lights and pink, immediately shrieking with girlish excitement and popping a bottle or two of prosecco in the fridge behind our own private bar. The lounge area has a bar with stools and a sofa ideal for groups to gather to make cocktails and giggle about boys. Or moan about men in our case! The Orchid suite is made up of 2 separate ensuite rooms (The Onyx Suite and The Panache Suite) and a shared lounge, altogether able to sleep 6 people. The Panache suite has a huge superior king bed and is decorated in a deep tea green with a tropical jungle theme. The ceiling is adorned with flowers that hang over the bed and bathroom but are in no way in your personal space. It looks absolutely stunning and is so tastefully done. Every detail from the light fittings to the bathroom sink are just perfectly in fitting with the style of the place. Each room comes with a smart TV, perfectly positioned for watching in bed which can make for a romantic night in or a girly sleepover watching romcoms and old episodes of friends.

The Onyx Suite has a more classic feel, with jet black walls and grey bedding and cream flowers hanging over the bedroom, it feels much sexier and more couples orientated. The bathroom has a double sink and mirror surrounded with a wall and ceiling of lush greenery, as if the room was built around the Amazon jungle. The bathroom is also complete with a luxurious rainshower and plenty of space for getting ready in front of the mirror.

One thing I would add here is that Copper & Blossom is not a hotel, so although there are clean towels and mini fridges, you will have to bring things like toiletries, hair dryers and robes and slippers. But let me tell you about the main attraction…

The Copper & Blossom Suite sleeps 8 people and is home to a spacious lounge and kitchen, 3 bedrooms and a private cinema room complete with popcorn machine. There is also a separate bathroom with a waterfall shower and a bar area and fireplace to keep the whole room toasty and warm. The flower theme carries on into this suite but on an even larger scale, you’ll also find a Christmas tree in the living room to give you all the festive feels!

The rooms in this suite are very girly indeed, it’s certainly not a place for a night out with the boys. With gorgeous dressing tables and light up mirrors in the rooms it is just the perfect place to get ready for a night out in the city or just put on a facemask and have a laugh with your friends whilst getting drunk and watching films.

I of course did a full photoshoot whilst in Copper and Blossom but with so many Instagrammable rooms it was really hard to choose a favourite spot, but by about 20 minutes in I was just exhausted and ready for some bubbles and my pyjamas! Whilst laying in my huge bed that night I imagined all the ways in which people could enjoy this place:

  • Spending the day shopping then dumping all the bags and heading out to drink overpriced mulled wine at the Christmas markets.
  • Sightseeing in the city, watching a concert at the Arena or a football match at The Etihad then coming back to a lovely big bed in a quiet part of town.
  • But my favourite thought was getting together with all your friends you haven’t seen in far too long, putting on your matching pyjamas you just got and catching up on all the gossip you missed in the last 2 years while drinking mid-range white wine. That’s the dream right there, and Copper & Blossom is the perfect place to fulfill those dreams.
