Booby Tape is a bespoke beauty brand founded by Bianca and Bridgett Roccisano and is the first company to invent a tape just for breasts. An innovative breast care company offering boob lifting tapes, silicone inserts, nipple covers, and most recently an all vegan breast skin-care product line. Globally expanding, the brand is now renowned for its miracle lifting and solution approach product lines as well as being advocated by A-list celebrities such as Lizzo, Doja Cat Winnie Harlow.
What made you come up with the idea for the brand?
We actually started our business in 2018 from our kitchen table at home. After googling relentlessly if there was a company out there that already does this we realised we were the ones who needed to be the first company offering tape just for breasts. What’s nice about Booby Tape is that it started from an actual struggle. Whenever I had an event to attend, I was going to the hardware store and buying gaffer tape and different electrical tapes, and was taping my boobs up and ripping my skin off in the process. I thought to myself, This is ridiculous, I’ll just buy boob tape. So I jumped online and I couldn’t find it anywhere! And that’s when we knew we needed to do something. We figured that other women have the same struggles. Not everyone can afford a boob job, which is why that’s one of our taglines: ‘say goodbye to a $15,000 boob job.’ You don’t have to alter your body with surgery. We’re here to help for $21.95.”
What impact does the tape have for larger chested women?
We are two larger chested women ourselves, who struggled when choosing outfits etc and took matters into our own hands taping our own breasts so inclusivity and catering for larger breasts has always been at the forefront. We are a game changer, the beauty of booby tape is the unique strength it has to hold up even the heaviest of breasts. This can be seen by the variety of real women transformations we love to share on Instagram, we really are a life changer for women who do not want to undergo, or can not afford, a breast reduction.
How does the 24K Gold Breast Mask work?
Our 24K Gold Breast Masks are designed to moisturise, increase elasticity, firm wrinkles, brighten and repair and are suitable for all cup sizes. We recommended to use them 1-2 times per week and the main active ingredient is Hydrolyzed Collagen. As you age, your body produces less collagen, resulting in wrinkles, sagginess and dry skin. What steps have you taken as a brand to empower women?
At Booby Tape our whole business is dedicated to empowering women. We support women of all shapes, sizes and ethnicities. We highlight this on our social pages showcasing the beauty of stretch marks and refusing to edit photos as we believe every woman is beautiful and unique. Also thanks to the financial growth of Booby Tape alone we have launched a consulting agency on the side to help other female founders launch brands as well (in response to frequent requests for business advice).
What has been some of the best feedback?
It is evident on our Instagram and on many press reviews that women are so thankful for us introducing this product line. We are inundated online with women from all over the world thanking us for having a game changing product, they send in before and after results that are absolutely mind blowing!
What advice would you give to other women who want to start a business?
We alway say first of all, and the most important element is, that the product has to work or it will not sell. Second of all you need a point of difference, why is your business going to be different and stand out in the saturated industries out there. Thirdly, you need to be confident and believe in yourself, if you can do those three things you should have the core to start a really successful business.
What do you think is the secret to having a successful brand?
We truly think you have to be completely and utterly obsessed with your business, you have to be in love with it. We live and breathe Booby Tape, we are dedicated to the brand like a child. We want Booby Tape to grow up with the best chances in life. We are also very hands on despite being the directors of the brand, we specialise in creative directive work, public relations and marketing. We are incredibly grateful for the success so far, that being said we are also incredibly competitive and believe this is only the beginning of Booby Tape. Now that we have bounced back from covid, and actually as a result of covid, we had the time to sit back and create Booby Tape skin so we are very proud that we have now also created the world’s first skin care line for breasts. Whilst we have a large presence online we actually have quite a significant wholesale business currently stocked in 40 countries around the world. Next month there will be 3,500 stockists around the world. We have a goal of getting that to about 20 thousand stockists worldwide.
What plans do you have for the brand in the future?
Our main goal is for Booby Tape to be known as the generic brand name for breast accessory solutions – essentially, what ‘Kleenex’ is to tissues. You can see on our Instagram that we embrace the diversified female body and we truly want to continue becoming a female empowerment brand. Which we kind of already are as we are already ranked the number one position in the world for breast lift tape. We created a ‘world’ first and we’re here to create a household name. We want to see it in every drug store. Also, we definitely have rival brands out there because our product is so unique. We are the first people in the world to invent a tape just for breasts. We have now lost count but we definitely have above two thousand people who have copied our product. To the point where our photos have been stolen and content copied. However, our unique technology, formula and solution approach has yet to be copied. We remain the originals and specialists in this department.
My thoughts
As someone with a larger cup size I have always been envious of women in outfits with plunging necklines or halter-neck and backless tops but Booby Tape is somewhat of a revolutionary product for me, enabling me and women of all shapes and sizes to look and feel amazing in any style. I was also lucky enough to sample their new Booby Tape Skin range which I was also really impressed with as it feels so luxurious and leaves your breasts tantalisingly smooth and my skin already feels firmer. Just when you think you have every beauty product going, along comes something you think you definitely don’t need, until you actually try it!
