Thai Square Spa and Salon

Oftentimes it’s hard to find a top quality spa in the heart of a cosmopolitan city. There are those great spots where one can nip and nip out however a full treatment facility where one can bathe, steam, rest and have beauty and facial treatments is a rarity.

I discovered Thai Square Spa off Trafalgar Square for an indulgent post work day woman’s relaxation treatment. With golden and red interiors and one of the few traditional and sleek places where one can get a traditional full body Thai massage in a gorgeous setting.

Thai Square Spa was originally a Turkish bath and has been restored with Thai and Russian influences which one can see in their interior design. There are five Thai massage treatment rooms, six ritual massage rooms and one vast VIP suite treatment room with private relaxation zone and steam room.

And of course, I needed it. With 22 events planned over the course of London Fashion Week, exhausted and glued to my iPhone, I took off from JPR Media Group’s office in Knightsbridge to experience an incredible respite from the buzzy life of being a PR girl in one of the hottest cities in the world.

The hour long Thai traditional massage was fabulous. My friendly and experienced masseuse washed my feet with warm water and salts before I placed my head on the comfortable massage table. The Thai massage feels one of a kind as they focus on your back’s pressure points, using both hard and soft pressure to make you feel relaxed and stretched whilst pressing deep enough to get the knots out. I felt relaxed and energized at the same time. As I placed my slippers on after the massage, I went to view the intimate golden bubbling Jacuzzi with steam room which still has the feel of a rustic Turkish bathhouse.

Thai Square staff served me hot aromatic tea on one of the chaise lounges and I felt as if I was literally in Thailand, not a few feet away from the hustle and bustle of Trafalgar Square.

When I next pop in, I will definitely purchase one of their scrumptious iMantara massage oils or body scrubs or spend the day in the Himalayan salt treatment room which is a restorative treatment room and sounds absolutely sublime.
