The Diva Hotel, Bahrain

Captain Jessica Patterson at the helm of the yacht, feet non-chalantly on the wheel, riding the waves under the hot sun, clad in a white bikini top, sparkling pink bottoms and a glaze of golden bronze smouldering her sun-kissed skin.

This was Bahrain and the day after the third international party for London hot nightclub Tonteria at the breathtaking Sky Bar atop the Diva Hotel. With four models and two WWE-style wrestlers in tow, I had taken the Tonteria team on another international pop up adventure with founder of X-Clusive events Rashid Al Gaoud.

The location of the party, Hotel Diva, is a boutique 4-star luxury hot spot in Juffair, a bustling city 10 minutes away from the capital Manama and the Bahrain International Airport. The Diva Hotel is a perfect spot for business and pleasure, offering in-room amenities, deep bathtubs, 24-hour room service, currency exchange, and a variety of guest rooms to choose from including a selection of suites.

There is Le Cafe – a restaurant with Arabic and English food, Kicks – an English pub style dining experience with a super cool DJ, Davy Crockett’s – a fresh food market place for those particular to health-conscious fresh food, Sky Bar – the rooftop pool, gym, and bar with DJ, billowing sheets over canopy beds and views over the Al Fateh Mosque and Manama Bay. With very high-quality Japanese food in Bahrain, they will also soon open an in-hotel Japanese restaurant called Aura Lounge, which will be a fine excuse to return!

My flight was made particularly special with an ethos of Arabian hospitality by Gulf Air. Flying first class in a comfortable bed with an Arabian mezze of delicacies, Arabian tea and dates served, I was impressed by the staff’s friendliness and personalised service. Launched it’s commercial services in 1950, Gulf Aviation company, owned by the Kingdom of Bahrain through Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, now travels to over 30 destinations worldwide (find out more on the Gulf Air website).

And now, I’m off to my next adventure – to the Casino Royale scenic location of Porto Montenegro for the Vivienne Westwood catwalk show… Watch this space…
