Four Seasons London at Canary Wharf

Canary Wharf is the business capital of London and a nights stay in the Four Seasons Hotel may surprise you.  The Four Seasons hotel group clearly stands out in terms of service, accommodation, facilities offered, location, friendliness and professionalism of the staff and Four Seasons at Canary Wharf is no exception to this rule.

Canary Wharf may make you think of Business meetings and not pleasure but a stay at Four Seasons at Canary Wharf has everything for a fantastic and unforgettable stay in the area, the hotel is nearby many local attractions including The O2 and when The Olympics arrive this Summer it will be handy for those traveling to the Olympic sites.  The Four Seasons is right next to the Thames Ferry into the City which can be used as an alternative to the DLR/Tube if required, there is also valet parking with helpful staff to assist with any car requirements: as I was leaving the hotel after my stay the doorman kindly offered me an umbrella and a car as it had started to rain, very thoughtful indeed!

The hotel, being that it is in the business district, does have meeting rooms for business use with screens, a break area for coffee and great Wi-Fi signal. There is also a ballroom which is presently being refurbished to look even more glamorous for weddings and other such uses.  These facilities, much like most of the hotel, have fantastic views over the River Thames and sights of London. But do not let its looks deceive you, this hotel offers just as much recreational delight as it does business services.

The Penthouse Suite I stayed in was luxurious and very spacious and had fantastic views of the River Thames and iconic London buildings like The Gherkin, there are several bay window seats to enjoy these marvelous views, one could sit there for hours watching the activity on the river.  The interior displays a warm atmosphere with a lounge and kitchen area which is handy for storing items in the fridge or cooking if one so desires it, there is a real homely feel in the living area with the facility of a dining table for six overlooking the breathtaking views of London. The room provides internet access and is equipped with two-line speakerphones and data ports for PCs, you can ask for a PC if required and the hotel will provide a laptop.

The limestone bathroom was of very good size with a comfortable bathtub and walk in shower and a private toilet with bidet as well as a second guest toilet in the lounge area. The products in the wash area were divine as they were by L’Occitane who I have found always have superior bathroom products.  The bath I had after I arrived was fabulous with a glass of Champagne and the music provided by the hotel ‘The Together Collection’ by pianist Carl Doy was so enjoyable I have gone on to purchase it!

If you like going to the gym, the 24 hour gym at the hotel on the second floor is sufficient for a late night run on the machines, but be sure to try out the Virgin Health Club just behind the hotel, where guests have free admission to swim and gym, it is truly great to use.  There is also a small spa onsite which Charlotte tested out (coming soon) after her ascent to heaven at the spa at Four Seasons Park Lane.

The dining facilities include the modern elegant feeling Italian restaurant Quadrato and room service which is of a very high standard with lots of choice to eat and drink in the comfort of your own room available 24 hours a day.  I dined in the restaurant and also used the room service which was great for a midnight snack.  I also had breakfast delivered to the room which meant I could slip into a luxurious Four Seasons bathrobe and eat my pancakes overlooking the views of London!  Breakfast was a sight to behold with baskets of pastries, scrambled eggs and bacon, American pancakes with Maple syrup all washed down with a lovely pot of tea and freshly squeezed  juice of the day as recommended by the kitchen.

I had a wonderful time at Four Seasons at Canary Wharf, I could not recommend this hotel more highly to anyone looking for only the very best in service and luxury in London.  Whether it be for business or pleasure, or both, you will not find better facilities, location and of course, as with all Four Seasons hotels, staff that are helpful, knowledgeable and above all else make you feel right at home.
