Incredible Hand Luggage Heroes

by Lorna Oakley

As you may have seen from my previous adventures, I have an incredible love for the Mediterranean. Queues on the other hand are not my thing, therefore I’ve taken to using hand luggage where I can if I am not shooting content for fashion or beauty brands.

Only a few weeks ago, I took advantage of the beautiful Autumn sun and visited one of my favourite places; Mallorca. A few weeks prior, I had been kindly sent some hand luggage size skincare products and they were the perfect travel size, so this was the perfect opportunity to use them.

The incredible Dr Jackson Coconut Melt

Dr Jackson’s is a sustainable, science-led cosmetics company. They create natural skincare products and organic herbal teas and believe in beauty that is clean, safe and, most importantly, effective. Their vegan and cruelty-free products combine meticulous research with the finest ingredients nature has to offer.

Their products are developed for all genders and all skin types. “Drawing on a combined 30+ years of leading scientific research between our founder, Dr Jackson and our team of scientists, we formulate products that care for your skin in the most natural and effective way possible, backed by extensive clinical trials. Dr Jackson was a specialist in melanoma during his time at the Department of Dermatology at King’s College, where he researched natural ingredients that had special healing properties for the skin. Our products are based on the principles of pharmacognosy: the study of natural medicines derived from plants and their traditional uses.”.

All of their ingredients are rigorously tested in the lab to ensure the utmost purity, as well as being ethically sourced. Particularly suited to problems or sensitive skin, their formulations are free from any synthetics or nasties that wouldn’t be kind to your skin.

I packed No. 4 Dr Jackson Coconut Melt, its deeply moisturising multi-purpose balm, 100% organic, British pharmacopoeia-grade*, unrefined coconut oil. It’s great for minimising the appearance of fine lines or scars, nourishing skin all over, repairing cracked lips, treating dry areas (cuticles, elbows, heels), conditioning hair, removing makeup, or to highlight cheekbones and lips delivering a natural glow.  It is perfect as a one-stop product while travelling.

Lid Tints are the ultimate no-rules makeup, made to simplify your routine with buildable, multi-tasking options, I use my fingers for these rather than a brush, they also work great as highlighter for cheeks, shoulders and collar bones.

Wǒ Skincare

Beautiful makeup is only half the journey to looking polished when travelling light, hence I’m obsessed with Wǒ Skincare, this is a one-of-a-kind, 100% recyclable skincare system that’s tailored to you and your unique skin. I took Aqua Gel with me, this features a lightweight, water-like texture with a refreshing, cool effect.

The gel contains a super hydrating H20 Complex derived from marine and plant-based actives, it bursts into liquid when applied, drenching your skin for optimal skin cleansing, whilst revitalising, plumping and giving lasting moisturisation perfect for warmer countries. As well as the Aqua Gel, I packed three days’ worth of Power Toniq.

This works fast to boost hydration levels. Specially formulated with a rich and nourishing blend of botanical moisturising actives and hyaluronic boosters, it provides instant hydration, comfort and relief to dry dehydrated skin. Containing a super moisturising and skin-smoothing complex made from a natural blend of Watermelon, Apple and Lentil Fruit Extracts, it floods the skin with immediate moisture, while skin softening Argan, Jojoba and Olive Oils nourish and condition.

Organic Pharmacy Factor 50

Natural, Effective. Eco Friendly. This expertly formulated Organic mineral sun care range is clinically proven to protect the skin from excessive UVA and UVB Radiation to help prevent photoaging and lower the risk of skin cancer. Not only does it keep my skin hydrated, but the nourishing oils mean it’s non-whitening and just as importantly it’s coral reef safe.

You may have seen me sing the virtues of Organic Pharmacy previously, but their founder Margo Marrone has created the most incredible products that work and are kind to your skin and the environment. Side note, It is absolute bliss keeping your beauty products in the minibar when travelling, thank me later!

Balmain Couture Hair

I couldn’t do a hand luggage heroes round-up without my favourite hair product EVER. The Argan Hair Elixir is incredible, containing rejuvenating pure organic argan oil infused with a unique blend of oils and minerals. Not only does it hydrate, moisturize and soften the hair, but the hair oil increases the hair’s elasticity and natural shine. Revives dry, damaged hair, and split ends and reduces frizz. It’s perfect for taming humidity hair and slicking back in a ponytail.

To conclude, as you know I will only work with cruelty-free brands, never be afraid to ask how and where something is made! Happy travelling.
